Stillwell: Mideast Studies Departments Display Further Moral Rot in Lenient Treatment of Sexual Harassment

Michael Lumish

Cinnamon Stillwell, from over at Campus Watch, has turned over a rock.

She has a very interesting piece at The Algemeiner concerning sexual harassment charges introduced by female graduate students at professors within the Middle East studies departments of the University of California, Berkeley and UCLA.

The story is interesting in the way that the OJ Simpson trial was interesting. That is, it seems to pit gender identity politics against ethnic identity politics in what is probably the most highly contentious and propagandized field of study within the humanities, i.e., Middle East studies.

This is pretty explosive material, actually, and just the kind of thing that would normally send university feminists to the barricades.

Give it a gander and we'll see what happens going forward.

    1. In complete accord with your victimhood hierarchy chart.

  2. I saw Piterberg speak at an anti-Israel day of events at UCI several years ago. It was an all-star cast of Israel-bashers including UC Irvine's Mark LeVine, Charles O'Connell, Theo Goldberg and other "luminaries" like Norman Finkelstein. It is good to see propagandists like these so thoroughly discredited. Thye are truly a bunch of boobs.

  3. I doubt very much that even rape charges would do much to defame these people. They and their acolytes are clinically insane.

    1. Great article. There can be no peace or coexistence with these people, except the "superior firepower" variety. I wouldn't blame it all on Islam either. Their culture is a product of who they are. Biologically.

    2. Biologically? Biologically they are human beings, which has always been a mixed bag. A primer in physical anthropology is quite revealing.

  5. Here's something I would love to email to all the anti-Israel profs out there: https://i.redditmedia.com/rMLZTZSe9y3-n_NyageJciWyR4WpGiSU_mPLZzDBCac.jpg?w=802&s=75f8c6e98e5eb5ea355c07082a2b5d14

    1. I have to say, Kumar, that I'm pretty well ignorant of Pepe the Frog, whatever it is, and I suspect that I'm probably happy keeping it that way.

The country is slowly moving out of a moment of domestic paranoid hysteria and all of this seems to have something to do with Pepe... and Milo.

So, y'know, Laurie was recently given a gift of a sort-of frog statuette. And I said, why don't we name him Pepe. Having no idea who Pepe the frog is, she just looked at me.

"Why, Pepe? I don't think that I like Pepe."

So, I said "How about Milo?"

And that name she thought was terrific.

What this means is that I am now the part owner of a ceramic frog named "Milo" who will always be around to remind me of this wonderful political moment.

      Oh, joy.

    2. I don't get the Pepe the Frog thing either. Who is he? Where did he come from? What's his cultural significance?

    3. he's a meme that somehow got liberals to call the cartoon frog a "symbol of white supremacy" whatever the fuck that is, and Trump trolled the left on that on his own twitter https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/653856168402681856

    4. White supremacy? Oh yes, the scourge of our age. The Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Acts, and basically all the heavy lifting on such issues had been done by the time I was 12 years old. It's so interesting to me (but not really) that we now have a generation that measures each and every one of life's questions and challenges as a matter of race, i.e., who is "good" who is "bad," who is deserving, and who is to be shunned (superior vs. inferior) by whatever group they happened to be born into. (Has so much progress ever been so ignored?) But it is not unprecedented. Late 19th Century "thinkers" were also obsessed with such ideas, the only difference being the order in which they placed groups within the hierarchy. Nothing beneficial ever came of it, just a lot of death, destruction, and a world torn asunder. And of course the destruction of european Jewry for the crime of daring to exist in the midst of such brainlessness and savagery all dressed up in suits, uniforms, and caps & gowns.
The U.S. Constitution spells out that social progress is defined in the honoring of people as individuals. The laws I cited above were passed because certain people were discriminated against as group members rather than honored as individuals. The overwhelming number of those who voted to pass these laws were white men. These ideas don't seem to fly with progressive hipster and their once spotty faced, pot smoking professors.
