Brief Notes: Absolute Stupidity

Mike L.

There is something profoundly wrong with our engagement, as Jews, in the larger world.

That is, there is something profoundly wrong with the fact that although we represent a tiny, historically persecuted minority, it is considered "racist" or "Islamophobic" on the progressive-left to point out the fact of genocidal anti-Jewish racism within Islam.

Islam represents 1.5 billion people. If even a single percent of those people hold to radical Islam then a greater number of Muslims hold to an ideology with murderous intention toward us than the entire Jewish population world-wide.

Yet, in some circles I am considered a racist for daring to notice this problem and to articulate it as a problem.

The stupidity, given our history, of condemning a Jew for noticing genocidal intentions toward Jews couldn't be more profound.

We cannot protect ourselves from what is a very dangerous problem if "progressives" consider it immoral to even notice the problem.

The stupidity, or perhaps ideological blinkeredness, is just absolute... unfathomable, really.

  1. Not only that, but amongst all too many 'progressives,' who are otherwise so keenly attuned to all kinds of offensive dog-whistles against so many other groups of people (a very admirable quality, imo), so many of those very same folks (this phenomenon often plays out on blogs like Daily Kos, HuffPo, &c) suddenly start singing a quite different tune when confronted with historically deadly antisemitic memes like ZOG and whatnot. Even when they're set straight by many Jews.

So many of them always seem to be able to find a way to excuse it as simple 'criticism of Israel,' and their reply to our concerns all too often comes back along the lines of - "Shut up, that's not offensive. We'll tell you when you're allowed to be offended." Truly sickening. And that just can't be chalked up to stupidity. That, in fact, is reprehensible bigotry.

    1. Point taken. Although I would also note, that as you already said, we do have several problems, and neo-Nazi scum in America should definitely be included amongst the foremost of them, as well. Especially for those who are unfortunate enough to have groups of them nearby...

    2. Fair enough.

I do not want to overstate my case... which is my tendency, I think.

I am now off to the city for some pizza and low stakes Hold 'Em with Laurie and friends.

      Cheers!

You guys have a great weekend and a peaceful Sabbath.

  2. BTW, what is the Egyptian MB's President biggest first concern?

"Mohamed Morsi vows to free blind sheikh jailed in US

During rousing speech in Tahrir Square, Egypt's president-elect promises to work to free Omar Abdel-Rahman"

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jun/29/mohamed-morsi-sheikh-us?newsfeed=true

Now wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth if his best buddy Obama helped out with that one?

  3. Indeed.

I think that the main question being discussed, but only on the right, is whether the problem is Islam, in general, or "radical Islam."

The left, sadly, will not acknowledge the problem, period, and therefore has nothing to say.

  4. The Secret War Against the Jews, by John Loftus and Mark Aarons
    http://books.google.com/books/about/The_secret_war_against_the_Jews.html?id=trU7nY-T-4EC

"The authors demonstrate that numerous Western countries, especially the United States and Great Britain, have conducted repeated and willful spying missions on Palestine and later Israel over many decades. While on the surface these two countries and others profess to be ardent allies of Israel, they work, in fact, through their intelligence services to betray Israel's secrets to the Arabs. Their motive: oil and multinational profits, which must be attained at any price through international covert policies. To understand the duplicitous nature of the West's diplomatic relations with Israel, the authors contend that one must understand the history that begins after the end of World War I with the sordid Mideast exploits of a British diplomat, Jack Philby. They then proceed into a detailed discussion of the boardrooms of American and English bankers and lawyers who had strong connections with Nazi leaders and Arab oil tycoons in the 1930s prior to the outbreak of World War II. ..."

America's Nazi Secret: An Insider's History, by John Loftus, 2010
    http://www.amazon.com/Americas-Nazi-Secret-Insiders-History/dp/1936296047

"Fully revised and expanded, this stirring account reveals how the U.S. government permitted the illegal entry of Nazis into North America in the years following World War II. This extraordinary investigation exposes the secret section of the State Department that began, starting in 1948 and unbeknownst to Congress and the public until recently, to hire members of the puppet wartime government of Byelorussia—a region of the Soviet Union occupied by Nazi Germany. A former Justice Department investigator uncovered this stunning story in the files of several government agencies, and it is now available with a chapter previously banned from release by authorities and a foreword and afterword with recently declassified materials. ..."

    Note:

John Loftus was a U.S. Justice Department federal prosecutor who had above Top Secret security clearance in the U.S. government.

Jack Philby was a British government official, and was a self-professed Socialist, and was one of the main administrators of the British Mandate of Palestine, and converted to Islam in 1930, and, with his friend Allen Dulles, provided petroleum from Muslim Arab states to the Nazi regime of Germany during the 1930's.

Allen Dulles was an U.S. government official who, after World War II, founded the CIA.

  5. On the European Left as it had come to be just even in 2002:

Sull Antisemitismo - Io trovo vergognoso (Vergognosi gli attacchi a Israele) (On Antisemitism - I find it shameful (Shameful attacks on Israel)), by Oriana Fallaci, 12 April 2002

An audio recording of a reading of the article by Oriana Fallaci:

    Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS9Dl5YEy3o
    Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anTPuAQ1oUU

    The text of the article:

    http://www.oerby.dk/sider/Oriana%20Fallaci.htm

"I find it shameful that in Italy there should be a procession of individuals dressed as suicide bombers who spew vile abuse at Israel, hold up photographs of Israeli leaders on whose foreheads they have drawn the swastika, incite people to hate the Jews.

"And who, in order to see Jews once again in the extermination camps, in the gas chambers, in the ovens of Dachau and Mauthausen and Buchenwald and Bergen-Belsen et cetera, would sell their own mother to a harem. ..."

    Read it all

Note: Oriana Fallaci was a journalist, and a Leftist, and, during the 1940's, was a Partisan fighter against the Fascist regime in Italy, and, during the 1960's, was a supporter of "the 'Palestinian' cause".
