Moses Was a Muslim

Interview with Dr. Omar Ja'ara, lecturer at Al-Najah University in Nablus, and specialist in Israeli affairs on PA TV:

We must make clear to the world that David in the Hebrew Bible is not connected to David in the Quran, Solomon in the Hebrew Bible is not connected to Solomon in the Quran, and neither is Saul or Joshua son of Nun [of the Bible]. We have a great leader, Saul, [in the Quran] who defeated the nation of giants and killed Goliath. This is a great Muslim victory. The Muslims of the Children of Israel went out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses, and unfortunately, many researchers deny the Exodus of those oppressed people who were liberated by a great leader, like Moses the Muslim, the believing leader, the great Muslim, who was succeeded by Saul, the leader of these Muslims in liberating Palestine. This was the first Palestinian liberation through armed struggle to liberate Palestine from the nation of giants led by Goliath. This is our logic and this is our culture. - Palestinian TV (Fatah), Feb. 15, 2012

The Jewish people have long experience with replacement theology. For centuries Christians told one another that the Jewish covenant with G-d was no longer in effect due to our rejection of the divinity of Christ and that, therefore, Christianity represented the new "Israel."

Thankfully, this trend in Christian theology has long ago faded out. Islam, on the other hand, is involved in a theft of Jewish history and Jewish traditions and Jewish identity the likes of which Christians never even began to approach.

In the clip above we have a Palestinian-Arab academic, Dr. Omar Ja'ara, claiming that Moses was a Muslim. It's pure theft of Jewish religious tradition, but this is just one example of an ongoing effort to steal Jewish identity in order to remove any connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel.

Similar claims are that the Tomb of the Patriarchs is a mosque, a bit of nonsense that UNESCO has agreed with. That Jesus was the "first Palestinian shaheed." That the Palestinians have 4,000... 5,000... 9,000 years of history on Jewish land. That the "Nakba" is the moral equivalent of the Holocaust.

Even the name "Palestinian" is the name that Jews under the British mandate referred to themselves by. It was appropriated by the local Arabs only years after the Jews no longer so identified, because they had become Israelis.

If stealing Jewish identity is a "Palestinian" tactic to replace the Jewish connection to the land of Israel, another tactic is simply denying Jewish history, altogether. Thus, for example, Arafat tells Bill Clinton that Solomon's Temple was not in Jerusalem, what Dore Gold has dubbed "Temple Denial."

These efforts are just the kind of thing that fly entirely under the radar of even people with an interest in the ongoing Arab-Muslim war against the Jews. I think that it is important that we remain aware of Muslim efforts to replace Jews, or to steal our history or identity, and highlight it whenever possible in order to limit its influence.

And, no, sorry, Anne Frank was not a "Palestinian," either.

    1. This is a big one for me.

I do not like the fact that some Muslim academics, and G-d only knows how many Palestinian activists, are actively appropriating Jewish history.

I remember the Palestinian Professor over on dkos using the "Jesus was the first Palestinian martyr" line.

It's a disgrace and almost no one says anything about it.

Certainly our friends on the Jewish left do not care, because they almost never breathe a word about this kind of thing.

Maybe I should start compiling a list of "progressive Zionist" failure and stupidity.

It would be a lengthy list, I suspect.

Why is it that we must turn to the right for justice?

Why is it that the very movement that most of us come out of has abandoned justice and decency for the Jewish people of the Middle East?

If they honestly cared about their fellow Jews in Israel they would stand up for those Jews, but they won't even stand up for Tamar Fogel.

I think that it represents a cowardice that runs so deep that they can't even bring themselves to think outside of the Palestinian narrative.

      {Fools.}

  2. Yes, this is insipid and provides Jews with substantial justification of widespread Muslim intent with regard to the Jewish people.

That it is so hard for some to make this connection makes me question the source of their education on the matter.

    1. Source, School?

      How do you mean?

    2. I mean over politicized environments from which simplistic, black and white explanations arise from a single narrative as a dogma, largely in academic circles.

In such an environment the academics are also activists. However, when activists are in charge of education, it becomes secondary to the activists' goal to achieve a political or social end. Rather than fully study the issues to find the best policies and practices, which requires difficult thinking and analysis, they opt for the "boilerplate." The purpose of education is thwarted and the product is predictable, second rate, due to the exclusion of nonconforming information, even if 100% accurate and relevant to making an informed determination.

When this is the source, it does not surprise me that one would have a hard time to see the intention behind the attempts to erase Jews from history.

    3. Ah. Gotcha.

I have a suspicion that the source here is less higher education, per se, than it is the progressive-left as a movement, itself.

Certainly there is much in the way of politicized education, but that politicization takes place under the larger umbrella of the movement, in a largely informal manner.

The movement places blinders on the individual who pays a social price if he dares to remove them. In this way, something like the Muslim theft of Jewish history remains hidden and thus uncommented upon.

This is the same reason that progressives do not dare mention the fact that the Palestinians only became "Palestinians" after the Soviets told Arafat that the local Arabs need to stop yammering about pushing the Jews into the sea and start speaking in terms of "national liberation."

Now, that's a fact, but it is a disallowed fact in progressive-left discourse because it undermines the "Palestinian narrative" which even progressive Zionists hold dear to their own hearts.

And this is why "progressive Zionism" is such a failure. They're thinking with half their brain tied behind their backs.
